This private Cape Peninsula journey is designed for travellers who want the major coastal landmarks without following a large-group timetable. Standard admission to the Cape of Good Hope section of Table Mountain National Park and the Boulders Beach penguin viewing boardwalk is included in the published tour price, together with private return transport, route coordination and Donovan Shaw or another approved registered guide as confirmed before departure.
Your confirmed guide, vehicle and ground itinerary are private to your booking. Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Beach remain public SANParks environments, so other visitors will be present and park access, queues, conservation rules, conservation fees and operating decisions remain outside Along the Shaws’ control. The current package includes the standard admissions stated in your booking; supplier fee changes before confirmation are handled transparently in writing.
Chapman’s Peak is used when open and safe. The Flying Dutchman funicular, lunch and optional supplier activities are separate unless expressly added. Penguin numbers and behaviour cannot be guaranteed, and Cape Point is not presented as the official meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans — the recognised geographic meeting point is Cape Agulhas.

Experience the Cape Peninsula on a private full-day journey shaped around dramatic coastal scenery, protected landscapes, local history and one of Cape Town’s best-known wildlife encounters.
Begin with collection from approved central Cape Town accommodation before travelling through selected City Bowl and Atlantic Seaboard viewpoints. The route normally continues past Camps Bay and Hout Bay, then along Chapman’s Peak Drive when it is open and safe to use. When the road is unavailable, the journey follows the most suitable alternative route.
Inside the Cape of Good Hope section of Table Mountain National Park, spend meaningful time at Cape Point, the historic lighthouse area and the Cape of Good Hope viewpoint. Guests may choose to purchase an optional standard return Flying Dutchman funicular ticket to reduce the uphill walk while still allowing time for photographs, interpretation and the surrounding fynbos landscape. The funicular ticket is not included in the published tour price.
Cape Point is not presented as the official meeting place of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans—the recognised geographic meeting point is Cape Agulhas. Cape Point is exceptional for its own Atlantic-facing cliffs, maritime history, wildlife and expansive coastal views.
Continue to Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town to view the resident African penguin colony from the official boardwalk. The penguins are wild, so their exact number, location and behaviour cannot be guaranteed. Guests must follow all conservation rules and avoid feeding, touching or disturbing the birds.
The day includes time for an optional lunch or refreshment stop in Simon’s Town. Meals are paid separately unless expressly added. The private format allows the route and pace to be adapted around photography, mobility and guests’ interests while preserving realistic time at the core attractions.
Your journey is coordinated by Donovan and delivered by Donovan or another approved registered guide, as confirmed before departure. Exact timing and operating order remain subject to traffic, weather, park queues, road access and attraction operations.

Short Hout Bay harbour or coastal stop. The standard itinerary does not include a boat cruise to Duiker Island; any cruise must be arranged in advance and will change the timing and price.
Continue along Chapman’s Peak Drive when it is open and safe to use, then travel through Noordhoek toward the national park. A suitable alternative route is used when Chapman’s Peak is closed.
Visit the official Boulders Beach boardwalk to observe the resident African penguin colony while following all wildlife-protection rules.
Optional late lunch or refreshment stop in Simon’s Town. Food and drinks are paid separately unless expressly included.
Enter the Cape of Good Hope section of Table Mountain National Park and continue through the protected fynbos landscape toward Cape Point. Explore Cape Point and, if purchased separately, use the return Flying Dutchman funicular to reach the upper lighthouse area and Atlantic-facing viewpoints.
Visit the Cape of Good Hope viewpoint and iconic sign area, with time for photographs and interpretation of the landscape and maritime history.
Begin the private return journey to Cape Town via the False Bay coast or the most practical route for current traffic conditions.

Fee information
Entrance fees: The published price includes standard confirmed admission to the Cape of Good Hope section of Table Mountain National Park and the Boulders Beach penguin viewing boardwalk. The standard return Flying Dutchman funicular ticket, optional upgrades, additional attractions and tickets not listed in the booking confirmation are excluded.
Meals: Lunch is not included in the published price. Time is allowed for a meal or refreshment stop in Simon’s Town. Donovan can recommend and reserve an appropriate restaurant, but guests pay the venue directly unless a meal package is expressly added.

Weather-dependent — Donovan will advise on adjustments.
What to wear: Wear comfortable walking shoes and layered clothing. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and a windproof jacket because Cape Point can be cooler and windier than central Cape Town even on clear days.
Weather alternative: The tour operates in a range of weather conditions, but the route and viewpoints may change for safety and visibility. If Chapman’s Peak closes because of weather, rockfall risk, maintenance or operations, the safest practical alternative route is used. Park, funicular or attraction closures may require the itinerary to be reordered or an appropriate alternative discussed.
Dietary: Dietary requirements, allergies and preferences should be provided before booking when Donovan is arranging a lunch reservation. Accommodation remains subject to the selected restaurant confirming what it can safely provide.
Booking notice: Book at least 48 hours in advance where possible so transport, admissions and any optional additions can be confirmed. Distant pickups and custom activities require earlier planning.
Cancellation: The accepted Along the Shaws Booking Terms govern cancellation and rescheduling together with any confirmed attraction, ticket or optional-activity conditions. Prepaid admissions, special arrangements or supplier bookings may become non-refundable after confirmation. The exact applicable terms are provided before payment.
